New Honda scooter 2012; Vision

Honda unveiled a new 110cc scooter claiming a fuel economy of 122 mpg.The Japanese manufacturer’s new global scooter model, the 2012 Honda Vision was designed to be a low-cost fuel efficient urban commuter.

Powered by a four-stroke 110cc engine with Honda’s PGM-FI fuel injection system, the Honda Vision claims a maximum power output of 8.3hp at 8000rpm while torque peaks at a claimed 6.4 ft.-lb. at 6500rpm. The fuel tank holds 1.45 gallons so the claimed fuel economy of 122 mpg translates to a range of just under 177 miles on a single tank of gas.

The Vision is equipped with Honda’s combined braking system, with the left lever controlling both rear 130mm drum brake and the front 220mm disc brake. The right lever controls the front brake alone. Other features include 14-inch five-spoke cast aluminum rims, two helmet hooks, underseat storage, and two open storage compartments in the leg shield.

The 2012 Honda Vision will be offered in five color options: Pearl Procyon Black, Boss Grey Metallic, Pearl White, Candy Lucid Red and Candy Aruja Blue.

American Honda has not announced availability yet, though as a global model like the CBR250R or the PCX scooter, it’s likely more a question of when rather than if the Vision will be available in the U.S.
